DISNEY TRIPS

BMYP maintains a well-established tradition of performing at Disneyland Paris, with the objective of organising a visit every three years to provide cast members with the opportunity to participate at least once. All cast members are encouraged to join, and selection is determined by previous show participation and demonstrated commitment throughout the year. The club subsidises the trip to ensure cast members from all backgrounds can experience this exciting opportunity.

During Disney years, our March show is rescheduled to late June or July. We stage a performance, often a shorter hour-long show, followed by a showcase of the 20-minute piece we will take to Disney. This allows the cast to rehearse and perfect their performance before the trip, while friends and family in Bristol get the chance to see it locally.

The performance itself is 20 minutes long and comprises of mainly singing and dancing. We showcase our skills in show dances including tap complete with costume changes which make for an extravaganza.

The trip usually takes place during the summer holidays, ensuring that time off school is not an issue. We travel by coach to Disneyland Paris, staying in Disney accommodation for two nights and performing in the Videopolis at Disneyland Park. Park tickets are included, and when not performing, cast members have free time in the parks with their friends. Often, the most interesting friendships are formed during these magical days at Disney. While the Disney performance is hard work, the rewards are far greater and create lasting memories for everyone involved.

Our next trip is planned for 2027 and you will need to be in the cast for our November 2026 production of Elf to qualify for the trip.
