I was in BMYP from age 13 to 18 when I went to study Drama & Theatre Arts at The University of Birmingham.
I adored my time in BMYP and look back on it so fondly. I made life long friends and anyone who was in BMYP knows that special bond you carry with you from our time in the club. It taught me the importance of teamwork and ‘the show must go on’ mentality and of course gave me the opportunity to participate in some fabulous shows.
I chose not to pursue musical theatre as a career, I work for a business who supply locations for photography and film shoot. Instead, I joined two prestigious am dram companies in Bristol, one of which I’ve been on the committee for a number of years and have choreographed for their shows so I’m still heavily involved in the world of Bristol am dram. I love that there are others from all age groups in these clubs who also spent time in BMYP. I still enjoy coming to watch BMYP shows and will always be so grateful for my time in the club.
